I’ve been making my own foaming hand soap for several years now, and it’s just so easy and saves me so much money, I just had to share!  I can customize the scent however I want, and adjust the ingredients to suit the season, or purpose.

To start, all you need is a foaming soap dispenser, castile soap and water!  If you like, you can also add essential oils ❤️

Now just FYI, I don’t normally measure things. I really prefer to just eyeball & guesstimate. 😉 But for this recipe, I’ll give you some measurements, just rest assured, that this is a pretty forgiving recipe. 😍

Here is my way-

1. Get your foaming soap dispenser

2. Fill it 2/3 to 3/4 of the way with clean water, add 10-15 drops of essential oil, and top off with soap.

3. Put the lid on and gently shake.

4. Wash your hands! 

If you want more precise measurements, then this version is for you-

1. Get a quart jar, and add 3 cups of water

2. Add 20-30 drops of essential oils (optional)

3. Top off with 1 cup Castile Soap

4. Put lid on and gently invert jar several times to mix solution.

5. Pour into your foaming hand soap pump containers

Now, if you want richer, thicker foam, you can use more soap, less water (try 2 1/2 cups water, 1 1/2 cups soap) 

If you want thinner foam, use less soap and more water (I’ve seen recipes that use more like 3 1/2 cups water, 1/2 cup soap, but that’s too thin for my taste)

I’ve also seen some people that just use straight soap in their foaming soap dispensers, but that seems like it would be too thick for my taste, and with kids using the soap, it would cost me a fortune to keep up! 😉

Essential oil ideas- 

🌷Spring- I really like Lavender & Sweet Orange, or Lavender & Grapefruit, or even Lavender & Lime

🌞Summer- Lime & Rosemary is amazing! 

🎃Fall- Pumpkin Spice baby!  A blend of orange, cinnamon & clove 😋

🎄Winter- Peppermint & Cinnamon, or Peppermint and Fir 

😷For times when the flu or other germs are rampant, I use a “thieves" type blend - Orange, cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, rosemary, lemon
